How

If you ever find yourself in need of self-styled ‘music to kiss the doldrums away’, then the lilting poppy sounds of this wonderful Los Angeles four-piece might just prove to be the ideal concoction. Taking on board the aesthetics of summery '60s harmonies, garage rock's raw tonality, slick new-wave electronics, and the adventurous dissonance of '90s indie rock (and if its individual artists you’re looking for, they draw heavy influence from the likes of Neu!, the Beach Boys, the Strokes, the Chills, Kate Bush, The Smiths, Prefab Sprout, Talking Heads and Altered Images) their shimmering production is something to behold.

This isn’t to say that they don’t hold any stock in the live environment – rather, they treat the stage with equal reverence as the studio. These guys understand that a full-on pop sensibility doesn’t need to detract from musical professionalism, and they command a performance with aplomb.
